Safety guidance

Fly safely and lawfully. This guidance applies to Titli by NVX, our enterprise drones and FPV drones built with parts from NVX. Always read the user manual that comes with your product as well.

Before every flight

  • Check that the propellers or wings, frame and battery are undamaged, and that the battery is firmly fitted.
  • Make sure the drone and controller batteries are charged, and that GPS and compass calibration are done where your drone uses them.
  • Choose an open area away from people, vehicles, trees, power lines and water.
  • For Titli at events, keep a clear space around the flight path and tell the guests before it flies.

Where you may fly in India

  • Check the Digital Sky airspace map before flying. Green zones need no permission up to 400 ft (120 m). Yellow and red zones need permission.
  • Do not fly near airports, defence installations, government buildings, international borders or over crowds without permission.
  • Under the Drone Rules, 2021, drones must be registered on Digital Sky with a UIN unless exempt. Nano drones (up to 250 g), and micro drones flown non-commercially, do not need a remote pilot certificate. Check the current rules for your drone category.

Weather

Do not fly in rain, fog, dust storms, strong or gusty wind, or extreme heat. Titli is light and is best flown indoors or outdoors in calm air. Enterprise drones have higher wind limits, but these are reduced by payload and battery temperature.

Battery safety (LiPo / Li-ion)

  • Charge only with the supplied or approved charger, on a non-flammable surface, and never leave a charging battery unattended.
  • Never charge, use or store a swollen, punctured or hot battery. Take it out of use and contact NVX.
  • Let a battery cool after flight before charging it.
  • For storage longer than a week, keep batteries at about 50-60% charge, in a cool, dry place, ideally in a fire-safe LiPo bag.
  • Do not throw batteries in household waste. Give them to an e-waste collector or return them to NVX.

During flight

Keep the drone within your direct line of sight, unless you have permission for beyond-visual-line-of-sight flight. Watch the battery level and land with reserve charge. Do not fly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

After a crash or a hard landing

Disconnect the battery straight away. Check for cracked arms, bent shafts and battery damage before flying again. If anything looks wrong, contact NVX. A drone that seems fine can still have hidden damage, so book an inspection at our New Delhi service centre.

Children and pets

Titli is not a toy for unsupervised children. Keep moving parts away from fingers, hair and pets, and store batteries out of reach of children.
