Tail-sitter
The whole aircraft sits on its tail and tilts to fly forward. Few moving parts. This is Rocket 01's layout.
VTOL
A VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) drone takes off like a helicopter and needs no runway or launcher. Rocket 01 is NVX's tail-sitter VTOL: it stands on its tail, lifts off vertically on four rotors, and uses short wings for efficient flight. It is in development, and briefings are available to qualified organisations.

There is more than one way to take off vertically and fly efficiently.

Separate lift rotors and a pusher propeller on a fixed wing.
Rotors tilt from vertical to horizontal for cruise.
Vertical take-off with rotors only. Simple, but less efficient over long distances.
Fixed-wing drones fly far but need a runway, a catapult or a net. Multirotors take off anywhere but use more energy to stay up. VTOL designs aim for the best of both: take off from a small clearing, a rooftop or a ship deck, then fly efficiently on wings.
Rocket 01 is in development. NVX publishes only approved information. Detailed specifications, demonstrations and evaluation are offered to verified organisations through a controlled briefing.
