India now has hundreds of drone companies, helped by the Drone Rules 2021, the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for drones and the restriction on importing foreign-built drones since February 2022. This guide groups well-known Indian drone makers by what they build, and explains how to choose one for your work.

NVX (TROUGON UAV TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED) designs, builds and services drones in New Delhi: Saksham, an enterprise drone with 55+ minutes of flight, about 15 km range, RTK and a wide, tele and thermal gimbal; BAAZ, a configurable UAV platform; Rocket 01, a VTOL platform in development; Titli, a bionic butterfly drone (₹50,000 incl. GST); and FPV drone parts and accessories. NVX also runs an independent drone repair workshop in Connaught Place.

Questions to ask before you buy.
Ask where it is designed, assembled and tested, and which parts are imported.
Commercial drones may need a DGCA type certificate and Digital Sky registration (UIN). Ask for the documents that apply to your use.
Who repairs it, how fast, and where? Local service matters more than a small price difference.
Does the company train your pilots or help with the Remote Pilot Certificate?
Compare drone, batteries, payloads, training, spares and downtime, not just the base price.
A few drone-related companies are listed on Indian stock exchanges, such as ideaForge Technology, and defence firms such as Zen Technologies and Paras Defence and Space Technologies have drone and counter-drone businesses. This is general information, not investment advice.
