Maintenance guide
By the NVX engineering team, New Delhi
Most drone crashes and costly repairs start with something a quick check would have caught: a chipped propeller, a loose connector or a tired battery. Use these checklists before and after every flight, every month and before storage. Always follow your manufacturer's manual where it differs.
Two to five minutes before every flight.
Check the Digital Sky zone, wind, rain and temperature for the site.
No chips, cracks or bends; mounted firmly in the correct direction.
Arms locked, no cracks, landing gear secure, nothing loose.
Fully charged, no swelling or damage, latched firmly; controller charged too.
Compass, IMU and gimbal show no errors; calibrate away from metal if asked.
Home point recorded, return-to-home altitude set above local obstacles.
After landing, before packing up.
The motors and batteries get hot; let them cool before handling and charging.
Look over propellers, arms, gimbal and camera for any impact marks.
Remove dust, grass and moisture; for spray drones, rinse the tank, pump, lines and nozzles.
Spin each motor by hand; it should turn smoothly without grit or noise.
Log any warnings, odd sounds or drifting so they can be checked.
Or every 20 to 30 flight hours for working drones.
Update drone, controller and battery firmware from official sources, then test-fly in a safe area.
Check screws, plugs and cable ties for looseness or corrosion.
Review cycle count and cell balance in the app; retire weak packs.
Replace propellers on a schedule, not only after damage.
Look for repeated warnings in flight logs.
For breaks of more than a week or two, and through the monsoon.
Store batteries at storage level, roughly half charge, never full or empty.
Keep the drone and batteries away from heat, direct sun and humidity; use silica gel in the case.
Fit the gimbal cover or lock to protect the camera.
Check battery levels every few weeks and top up to storage charge.
Stop flying and book an inspection after any crash or water exposure, or if you see motor or ESC errors, persistent compass or IMU warnings, gimbal faults, a swollen battery or unexplained drifting. NVX repairs DJI, FPV, agriculture and enterprise drones, with a quote before any work.
FAQ
Do quick checks every flight and a deeper check monthly or every 20 to 30 flight hours for working drones. Follow the manufacturer's schedule where it exists.
Immediately if chipped, cracked or bent, and on a regular schedule for working drones even if they look fine.
Use a soft brush and air blower; do not use water on electronics. Spray drone tanks and lines can be rinsed with clean water.
Yes, from official sources, but read the release notes and test-fly in a safe area afterwards.
